Welcome to Mann Library!
I’m happy to welcome you to the Mann Library website and all the resources, services and features it provides in support of your work at Cornell.
Mann Library is a bustling collaboratorium… a learning center where you can study solo, or in groups, gathering and synthesizing the knowledge of today’s and yesterday’s scholars, so that you, too, can bring new knowledge to light. Since it opened its doors over 60 years ago, Mann’s outstanding collections in the agriculture, life science, human ecology and applied social science disciplines have been the hallmark of the our presence on the Cornell University campus. The students and faculty who enter our doors tell us that they're energized by others studying around them in our technology-rich, light-filled study areas, and by the knowledge represented in the collections, whether print or digital.
This year, we rolled out a refurbished study space on our 2nd floor that has been met with wild approval by students. Through our diverse services we continue to provide Cornell’s busy faculty and researchers with top quality, often highly customized library support at each individual’s very specific point of need. We remain committed to the realization of our part in Cornell’s land-grant mission, making ever greater portions of our collections available to a worldwide public through initiatives such as our collaboration with the online Biodiversity Heritage Library. Our librarians and information technology experts also support the University's global impact through efforts like our TEEAL project, which is making the world's best journals in the life science disciplines available to over 425 universities and research centers in over 80 developing countries.
So welcome to Mann Library—whether you to come to us in our beautiful physical setting overlooking the Agricultural Quad of the Cornell campus and the University’s wooded Beebe Lake, or whether you visit us virtually via our website and the various digital and online spaces enriched by our services and collections. We hope that you find the perfect way to connect with all that this library offers.
If you have any comments or suggestions, please be sure to get in touch with us. We welcome your inquiry and feedback, and we wish you a productive research experience.
