After defining the guiding principles that would govern our work, the Mann Library Web Site Re-Design Committee gathered input from students, faculty, and staff at Cornell via a web survey, email correspondence, and informal focus groups. The Committee divided into three subgroups; one concentrating on look and feel, one on content, and another on research assistance and subject based access. We wrote use cases, researched the literature, and looked at numerous web sites. We listened, discussed, persuaded, argued, argued and argued. As our work progressed, we knew we were onto something special. The final result is what you have in front of you—the research oriented web site that our users requested.
We wouldn’t have succeeded without help from a huge cast. Thanks go out to everyone listed below. If we missed anyone, we apologize.
Please take a look at our site and let us know what you think.
Sincerely,
The Committee
