The Ellis Collection for Leisure Reading

Ellis Collection

The Ellis Collection was established in 1949 from a bequest of Edith A. Ellis to Mann Library. This endowment was intended "for the purchase of books for cultural reading," and designed to foster reading for pleasure. These books are related to subjects normally collected by Mann Library, such as farming, natural history, and family life, but are popular, literary, or personal treatments of these areas. The collection is housed on the second floor of the library in a cozy corner with lounge furniture. The books are listed in the catalog and may be checked out of the library.
