Warren Hall Computing Labs

Both of the computer labs in Warren B60 and 160 are expected to move to the basement of Mann Library in Fall 2008. These are primarily teaching labs: faculty and instructors have first preference for reserving the use of these rooms. The labs are open for use by students when classes are not in session, except during the summer when the labs are for scheduled classes only.

Both labs are closed except during scheduled classes (see calendars below for times and dates). If you need to use a computer when the labs are closed please feel free to use the ones located in Mann Library.

Both of these labs can be reserved for course instruction under Schedule 25. Management & tech support:

The manager of the Warren Labs is Jeff Diver (jad2@cornell.edu, phone 255-3240). Jeff is also the manager of the Stone Computing Centers at Mann Library.

A student worker will be on duty in each lab all hours of operation.

Mann Library's ITS staff are maintaining all computers, printers and software. Instructors, please contact mann-help-l@cornell.edu to request software for your classes, and make sure you give a minimum of 2 week's notice for your software needs.

All software currently installed on the computers in both labs is listed on the Software - Alphabetically Sorted list under the Warren B60 & 160 columns.

Both labs have wireless access

Hardware:

• B60: 27 iMacs (25 for students, 1 for instructor, 1 for student operator) with 20" display. All are dual-boot (Windows XP default and via Parallels, plus OS X).
• 160: 28 Dell PC's (26 for students, 1 for instructor, 1 for student operator) with 20" display; Windows XP.

Black and white printing ($.09 per side) is available via Net-Print in both labs. Double-sided printing is also available via Net-Print in both locations, for the same price ($.09 per side = $.18 for both sides). Color printing ($.20/page) is available via Net-Print in Warren 160.

Each lab has an Epson digital overhead projector for instructor's use.
