Meeting Rooms

Mann Library has two special purpose meeting rooms available for use by members of the Cornell community.

  • Conference Room 102 (seats 72; projector, screen, wireless mic/speaker and Windows PC desktop)
  • Seminar Room 100 (seats 17; distance learning/video conferencing technologies, Windows PC desktop)

Meeting room computers have Dell Windows XP desktop computers with Office 2003, Acrobat Reader, QuickTime, PowerArchiver (unzip), Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape, and Bear Access installed. Special hardware or software needs should be requested/arranged well in advance*.

Smaller general purpose Group Meeting/Study rooms are also available for 2 hour loan from the Circulation desk on a first come, first served basis. Availability can be checked from the main Equipment and Rooms page. A Projector Room is also available for small groups for practicing/giving presentations, and can be reserved in advance at the Circ desk.

Policies

  • Priority for conference and seminar room reservations is given to faculty, staff and students from the Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Human Ecology, but other Cornell Departments or affiliated groups may also reserve the rooms.
  • Room use is limited to academic activities. Examples of acceptable activities include meetings, seminars, lectures, training sessions, and discussion groups.
  • All reservation requests must be submitted at least 2 weeks in advance, using the meeting room request form. Requests are subject to review and approval by Mann Library. You will receive an email confirmation from the library once approved.
  • The library is not responsible for re-configuring rooms. Users may re-arrange furniture as necessary, but rooms must be restored to their original configurations and left clean. Serving of food and drink in the rooms is discouraged, but may be pre-approved on a case by case basis. Rooms will be checked after each use by Mann staff to confirm compliance.
  • Please refrain from changing hardware set up if possible. All equipment must be in original configurations when done.
  • Users should bring documents and other digital materials needed for presentations on removable media (e.g. DVD/CD or external USB flash or hard drive) for use on our computers (other devices not supported without special arrangements*). Alternatively, members of the Cornell community with a NetID can use DropBox to stage files up to 256 MB on CIT servers for download to our computers.
  • Report room problems/questions to Circulation desk staff.

*Technology support is available M-F, 8am - 5pm (but must be requested in advance).
