New Student Welcome
Students came game to try a scavenger hunt as part of Mann Library's New Student Welcome on August 29th. Numbered ducks retrieved from our wading pool---set up special for the occasion---sent students into the library to nail one of a variety of possible goals. Among the possibilities: A book in the stacks, a reserve reading on the library's e-reserves 'bookshelf, an article in an electronic journal, or even just a software application on an available computer in the Library's Stone Computing Center. We hope our game helped give students a good and quick orientation to efficient library research. We know they all received A+ for sportsmanship and good cheer--with a number of lucky individuals also receiving prizes for a winning raffle. Good job students--and welcome to college!
