Returning Items

Universal Returns

Many library items may be returned to any Cornell Library. Once checked in, a campus wide delivery system is used to return these items to their owning library. However, certain items must be returned directly to the owning library.

Items that may be returned to any library on campus:

  • Regular monographs
  • Regular bound and unbound journals (1 or 3 day loans)

Items that must be returned to the owning library:

  • Interlibrary loan items
  • Current periodical journals (bound and unbound)
  • All reserves
  • Borrow direct material
  • Media
  • Manual loans

Patrons who are out of town may mail items back to Mann Library directly. Packages may be mailed to:

Please ship books in boxes, padded envelopes, or some other secure packaging that ensures no damage will occur to the item while in transit.
