The Ellis Collection was established in 1949 from a bequest of Edith A. Ellis to Mann Library and is housed on the first floor of the library (map it
). This endowment was intended "for the purchase of books for cultural reading," and designed to foster reading for pleasure. These books are related to subjects normally collected by Mann Library, such as farming, natural history, and family life, but are popular, literary, or personal treatments of these areas.
Curriculum Materials Collection
The Curriculum Materials Collection at Mann Library was developed as a joint effort with the Cornell Teacher Education department to relocate resources from their Teaching Materials Center. The Collection, housed on the 3rd floor (map it
), consists of science and agricultural educational materials for use in middle and high school classrooms. In addition to serving the needs of Cornell students and faculty connected to the minor in Education, the collection is also of interest to area science and agricultural instructors and others involved in science curriculum development.
Recent additions to the library's collections, including books, serials, videos, and other formats can be found on the 1st floor near the Information and Research Help Desk. Browse new materials at Mann
and other Cornell libraries online.
